Motocross

    Sports club “Robusta” was formed on 8 November 2001. The founders of the club are Aurimas Milevičius, Egidijus Šiaučiūnas, Artūras Virkštis, Rimantas Kaškelis, Edikas Drupas and Gintautas Nemeikšis. Owing to them there was formed a motocross team of highest level that consisted of best sportsmen of Lithuanian motocross, couches and mechanics from different regions of Lithuania.  
   Before the beginning of the season, the sportsmen and couches of the club “Robusta” improved their skills abroad where training technique and the level of motocross routes are the best in the world.  
   Thanks to the supporters the sportsmen were provided with professional technology, special transport, duffel and best conditions to improve, reach new heights and glorify the club and Lithuania. 
   After intensive winter training and club‘s strategic plans the club “Robusta” resolved to strive for the heights in Lithuanian and world motocross. 
   In 2002 the club was represented by the following Lithuanian motocross stars: Arūnas Gelažninkas, Linas Šiaučiūnas, Saulius Stankus, Vytautas Bučas, Mantas Jonavičius and Nerijus Rukštela. 
   Having successfully begun and ended the 2002 season of Lithuanian motocross, the club “Robusta” became the champion of Lithuanian motocross. There were personally won 2 gold and 2 silver medals. During the European Championship in the same year Arūnas Gelažninkas took the 5th place in the 125cc class. The other sportsman of the club Linas Šiaučiūnas, the pioneer of FreestyleMX in Lithuania, is famous for his stunts. He in 2002 proved his title of “Air King” in Pakruojis, where he broke the Lithuanian record of long jump by bike.  
   In 2002 in the competition of the world and European nations, where it is supposed take part the three best sportsmen of each participating country, Lithuania was represented by the sportsmen from the club „Robusta“ : Arūnas Gelažninkas, Linas Šiaučiūnas and Saulius Stankus. The Lithuanian combined team reached the semi-final. 
   In 2003 Saulius Stankus and Nerijus Rukštela left the team, but the vacancies were filled by two sportsmen of „Hobi“ class, club‘s founders and firm „Robusta“ owners Aurimas Milevičius and Rimantas Kaškelis. 
  In the season of 2003 distinguished Arūnas Gelažninkas, who during the European Championship won the bronze in the 125cc class and together with the co-member Linas Šiaučiūnas represented Lithuania in the Championship of world nations. In the 85 cc class even two „Robusta“ sportsmen mounted the winner stand - Vytautas Bučas, having won the gold in the Lithuanian Championship, and Mantas Jonavičius, having won the bronze in the  Lithuanian Championship. 
   In the team competition of the Baltic States that took place in Latvia the club „Robusta“ took the 3rd place. „Robusta“ was represented by Linas Šiaučiūnas, Arūnas Gelažninkas and Latvian Raimonds Baltgalvis. In the Lithuanian Championship the team won the first place for the second time, personally 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals were won. 
   During 2004 „Robusta“ is the strongest team again. In the Championship the sportsmen won 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals. In the European Youth Championship Arūnas Gelažninkas remained the 7th after some setbacks. In the 2nd stage of the European Youth Championship Mantas Jonavičius won the 9th place. A big surprise for the club „Robusta“ was made by the newcomer to the team Gintaras Garška, who despite his short one-year driving experience in the club, managed to become 500 B and 500 C champion. In 2003 all club‘s sportsmen are the members of the National combined team.
